Etiquette Confidential Chiara Pedersen Founder

a note from the founder

chiara pedersen
founder & director

Born and raised by the beach in Takapuna, New Zealand, I now base myself here between global projects for remote and local assignments.

I started my career at the young age of 13 assisting with producing informercials for Australasia’s largest direct marking company, Brand Developers Limited. This was my first introduction to start to finish projects, they were high energy and I thrived off this. By the age of 16 I was coordinating photoshoots during my school holidays, and at 18 I was acting as the company director’s PA. I learnt to adapt quickly, working in high pressure environments and to always have a solution.

For my final two years of high school I moved to the South Island, to board in Alexandra Central Otago. Here I met the most genuine people, we had top notch experiences and I made lifelong friends.

I then went on to the University of Auckland to study a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Management. In my second year of study I began working part time for Al Brown and Co, at Federal Delicatessen. I soon moved to Depot Eatery where I indulged in the hospitality lifestyle full time as one of their managers. The fulfilment level was high, creating an atmosphere for people to have genuine tip-top experiences with one another. I found it addicting.

Part of working for Al went beyond the restaurant floor, doing charitable work for the Garden to Table trust, catering to private dinners and functions with him at his headquarters, and being in the team behind his own Burning Lamb food, music and art festival that launched in 2018.

I became curious, and decided I needed to explore outside of New Zealand. I ventured into the world of Super Yachts early 2019, starting on 80m MY Talitha as a Stewardess. My career progressed as I went on to 85m MY Solandge, 101m MY IDynasty, and most recently 95m MY Madsummer as Chief Stewardess. I was working on some of the most expensive yachts in the world for the most elite, planning and executing their day to day to the highest standards with being the guests personal concierge and go to for anything.

Operating under some of the world’s wealthiest, from all different cultural backgrounds and practices I have gained a proficient understanding in their different styles of Etiquette and how to implement it seamlessly.

Etiquette can be defined as a code of conduct and a set of societal rules that acts as a catalyst for positive human interactions.

Etiquette is the set of norms of personal behaviour in polite society, usually occurring in the form of an ethical code of the expected and accepted social behaviours that accord with the conventions and norms observed and practised by a society, a social class, or a social group.

The word Etiquette has quickly become part of my everyday language when working with a team, as I am constantly falling back on it when explaining a client’s needs or merely how to behave around them. I strongly believe in being nonchalant, to always remain calm, composed and collected.

Recently I discovered a new path for me, working for UHNW on land-based projects. I have rediscovered my admiration for the adrenaline involved from beginning to completion, just as I had experienced working on photoshoots. I have had the pleasure of working closely with 2 star Michelin Chef Conrad Gallagher in an extremely high octane environment, while presenting everything to complete perfection as smooth, subtle and nonchalant.

The projects and events I am part of do not exist in the public eye, they have never occurred and this is where Confidential comes into play.

For me, people interaction and satisfaction through genuine top-notch experiences by creating the perfect environment and a comfortable atmosphere is entirely rewarding.

I am excited to continue to welcome my own new experiences while doing what I adore, providing ultimate personalised services exclusively to you.
